Ever wonder why restaurants in San Diego County always have 'A' ratings on their health inspections, but you rarely, if ever, see any grade below that?

The reason is this: Restaurants that receive a 'B' or 'C' rating can regain their 'A' rating in a matter of days if they act quickly (There is no 'D' or 'F'). So, that restaurant with the near perfect health rating you ate at on Thursday could have been swarming with roaches on Tuesday.

Through the California Public Records Act, we obtained the list of restaurants that received 'B' and 'C' grades at any point between January 2010 and February 2012. Then we mapped them out.

80 - 89 = B
70 - 79 = C
