Using Maya Angelou’s poem, Still I Rise, as a starting point, Amy Galpin, associate curator of Art of the Americas, will examine modern and contemporary portraiture created by American artists, with an emphasis on work created in the last twenty years. The lecture is followed by a docent-led tour.
