Zombie Rock Band must be destroyed, but not until after Comic-Con

An intern visits Ink Press Mutations and Rotting Pussy on the Comic-Con exhibition floor

Ink Pen Mutations Press, from Culver City, set up its display on the Comic-Con floor today, displaying five of its cannibalistic, mutated characters featured in its graphic novel Zombie Rock Band Must Be Destroyed and the fourth and fifth installments of the Van Wyck comic series. Ink Press is also pushing its other artistic endeavor—'zombie metal' band Rotting Pussy and their new single: "Miami: Trippin’ on Bath Salts"— creating a multi-media gore-gasm that more than earned the group's inclusion on our must-see Comic-Con "Dead-genda."

Bridging the link recently created by the media between bath salts and cannibalistic assaults*, Rotting Pussy new single is all you’d hope (and fear) it to be. Over a low, pounding doom metal foundation, female vocals shriek about apocalyptic revelry while distorted guitar squeals fill the spaces in between, making it a must-listen for anyone currently on bath salts. If that's you, and you don't have a Comic-Con pass, you can get it off iTunes for $0.99.

But if you do have a pass, Zombie Rock Band's book signing takes place tomorrow (Friday, July 13) from noon to 3 p.m. at booth #1633.

* The song must've been written before the news broke that the lab found Rudy "Causeway Cannibal" Eugene only had marijuana in his system. Since then, law enforcement officials have said they believe that the alleged face-eater was on a synthetic drug that toxicology scans can't yet detect.
