'The Walking Dead' comes to life

Hit AMC TV show becomes a real life obstacle course for Comic-Con

By Alex Zaragoza
gory-zombie-760 Mmm.... flesh.
Are you a Rick, a Shane or a Sophia? Fans of AMC's zombie apocalypse drama, The Walking Dead, will now be able to learn without taking a dumb Internet quiz by experiencing first-hand how well they'd do if the world became infested with an evil infection that caused them to seek juicy flesh to feast on.

The Walking Dead Escape is a huge obstacle course that will be set up in the concourse area of Petco Park from Thursday, July 12, through Saturday, July 14, as part of Comic-Con.

Those who think they'd fare better than Otis on the show can participate as a survivor, which will put participants through a "zombie infested evacuation zone." They must run, climb, crawl and slide all while avoiding attack from the herd until they reach safety. For those who'd rather watch the carnage, there are spectator tickets available as well.

We spoke to Ruckus Sports' Liam Brenner, who is the braaaaiiiinnnsss (see what we did there?) behind the obstacle course. See what he had to say about the course in the video below.

The deadline to participate as a survivor is Tuesday. Tickets are $75. Spectator tickets go for $15. Learn more about the event and buy tickets here.
