Put an egg on it, superhero booze and more food stuff

Veggie+egg Pizza for breakfast!
Putting an egg on a pizza isn't new. Eating pizza for breakfast isn't new (well, for some of us). Why, then, has no one yet dreamed up the breakfast pizza? Oh wait, they have. Hello, URBN. Next time we need something savory in the A.M., we're heading your way. Available from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday for $10 (after that, the pies go up a bit in price), try the Pig n' Egg (fresh mozzarella, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs and your choice of artisanal bacon or sausage) or the Veggie n' Egg (fresh mozzarella, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, tomatoes and green peppers).

Pacifica Del Mar is making its extensive (400 to choose from) drink list available to guests via iPad. Among other info, get photos of the drinks, tasting notes and food-pairing suggestions. Guest are encouraged to email themselves info about, say, the glass of wine they just enjoyed or access their Facebook page to post about the awesome time they're having. A good idea that could end up being an awesome idea? Or a good idea that could go horrible wrong? Ponder.

Quality Social is rolling out two Comic-Con-inspired cocktails (available from 5 to 10 p.m., July 11 through 15): The Dark Night Bramble and the Man of Steel Ramble. They're also dividing up cheap-beer drinkers into two camps. During the 5 to 7 p.m. daily happy hour, get a $3 Pabst Tall Boy in a red paper bag (Superman) or a $3 Coors Banquet in a black paper bag (Batman). Batman always seemed more of a Heineken dude.

Speaking of booze, Seven Grand opened on July 1 in North Park, just across the street from the CityBeat offices. For now, the whiskey bar is is open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. We're hoping they'll happy-hour hours, like the L.A. Seven Grand. Soon. Please.

The name's a little awkward, but we're down with BGR The Burger Joint. Through July, $3 from the sale of every “Grunt” burger (burger patty, pickles, bacon, grilled onions, melted pepper jack, sriracha) will be donated to the Warrior Foundation, which aids injured war vets in San Diego.
