Former Blackwater exec leaves Eagle Rock Training Center

Brian Bonfiglio was embroiled in land dispute with Los Coyotes tribe

Brian Bonfiglio, a former vice president for Blackwater, is no longer affiliated with the Eagle Rock Training Center—a private military training facility that's currently occupying reservation land against the tribe's wishes—according to an "organization announcement" released today.

In this week's CityBeat, we reported that the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeño Indians has been in an eviction stand-off with ERTC since June, when the tribe issued a notice to vacate. The tribe had determined that a 25-year lease signed by its former chairperson in 2010 was invalid since it had not received Bureau of Indian Affairs approval.

According to the release, Bonfiglio parted ways with ERTC on Sept. 12, 2011—four days before ERTC filed a lawsuit against the tribe to uphold the lease. Although the statement describes Bonfiglio as a consultant, the suit contains an affidavit from Bonfiglio identifying himself as a founder and member of the company.

The letter also references the Eagle Rock Filming Center and says the company is in talks with two reality TV shows and a film production company.

Text of the release follows:

ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCEMENT

As of September 12th 2011, ERTC LLC also known as Eagle Rock Training Center and Eagle Rock Filming Center has parted ways with Brian Bonfiglio, a consultant.  Brian Bonfiglio is no longer associated with or represents ERTC, LLC or its affiliated companies.

Since 2009, Brian has been a member of the ERTC team.  His advice has helped create what will be a world class military and law enforcement training center in the future.

Please join us in wishing Brian and his family all the best in the future.

ERTC (Eagle Rock Training Center) and ERFC (Eagle Rock Filming Center) are an outdoor training and filming facility located near Warner Springs, California. The site has terrain that closely replicates that found in many different places around the world with elevations in excess of 6,000ft. There is also 20 miles of established off-road training areas.  This provides great training and filming opportunities while making ERTC & ERFC very unique.

Eagle Rock Filming Center is excited to bring additional work from the film industry to San Diego County. Currently we are in talks with two reality TV shows and one movie production to use the area.
