Maren Parusel's national tour took a turn for the worse when the band's tour van got broken into in New York City early Sunday morning. The van was parked on West 87th Street near Central Park; somebody broke the lock on the door sometimes between 3 and 7 a.m., walking away with guitars, roughly $1,100 and other items. Guitarist Ariel Levine posted a detailed list of the stolen items here. You can contact him at 917-749-1116 or midnitevigilantemusic@yahoo.com if you happen to be a New Yorker with any info. Despite the stolen gear, the band's carrying on with the tour with a show tonight in Washington D.C.

The stolen items are:

  • A custom-built bass guitar in the shape of a Fender Precision Bass. Red with white pickguard. Black hardshell case with some damage on corners.
  • 1984 Fender Japanese Stratocaster, white with a white pickguard and lace sensor pickups. Brown guitar-shaped case with a "Gorilla Coffee" sticker on case. Also "Fragile" sticker.
  • Fender "Telecaster/Esquire" with an '80s brown / black sunburst Japanese Fernandes Telecaster body and black pickguard. Fender Esquire neck. Black "Kases" case. Hardshell with soft surround and zipper, rectangular shape. Two cables in the pocket.
  • Yellow Epiphone Casino hollow-body guitar with a black guitar-shaped hard case with the stencil "Maren Parusel."
  • Boss pedal board w/ five pedals: Boss Chromatic Tuner, Boss Chorus, Maxon OD-808 Overdrive, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Boss Tremolo, Boss Digital Delay.
  • Yamaha keyboard (88 keys, weighted).
  • Alesis Micron synth in a violin case with stencil "Maren Parusel."
  • DW-9000 bass-drum kick pedal, in a hardshell DW case, with stencil "GOLD."
  • Red sparkle porkpie 12-inch rack-mount tom with stencil "GOLD."
  • Black cash box with approximately $1,100.
  • Garmin GPS w/ stand and cable.
  • HP laptop computer, black.
  • Camping bag full of clothing and personal items.
  • Black chest with band's merchandise.
  • Black windbreaker jacket.
  • Black and red Trader Joe's food bag.
