TV on the Radio postpone their May 2 concert

Go see Vivian Girls at The Casbah instead

TV on the Radio are postponing their concert at 4th & B on Monday, May 2, the venue announced this morning. Instead they'll play on Friday, May 13. Tickets for the May 2 show will be honored on May 13.

Things have been tough for the acclaimed NYC art-rock band over the past week: On April 20, bassist Gerard Smith died of cancer. The band promptly canceled five dates on their tour. They pledged to play the rest of the dates, but it's cool that they're postponing this one. We understand, guys.

If you're looking for something to do on the night of May 2, I recommend you make your way to The Casbah to catch Vivian Girls. Their new album, Share the Joy, has been getting mixed reviews, but the album still has some gems like "I Heard You Say" (see video below). I'm especially curious to catch them after seeing all their side-projects come through town over the past year. Also, I wouldn't want to miss openers Plateaus, a relatively new local slacker-punk band that I've been intrigued by lately. No Joy also opens and Mario Orduno DJs.
