Finally, somebody sucked it up and did all of the tedious legwork of rounding up past CityBeat cover artists and putting them in an exhibition.The CityBeat Cover Art Show is happening from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 at Alexander Fine Art Auction House at 1040 Seventh Ave., Downtown. That's the last event we talk about on this week's podcast, so you'll have to push play and listen all the way through to get more details.
Also making the To-Do List this week is the East Meets West: NWEAMO and TriBeCa New Music Festival. Music editor Peter Holslin says there's a song written for piano and infomercial, a 20-minute sampling of a Philip Glass piece and lots of other experimental music audiophiles might dig. One of the bands on the lineup, SWARMIUS, actually provided the music for this week's podcast.
And events editor Carissa Casares tells us about two art shows that sound like something you may want to see: the Neighbors show at Habitat House this Wednesday and the Fifth Season show at Space 4 Art.
