Brew To-Do: Thorn St. Brewery Anniversary

Hurray, beer!

It seems like only one year ago that Thorn St. Brewery opened up to bring its stylistically well-rounded set of beers to North Park and South Park. It seems like that mostly because it has been almost exactly one year since it opened its doors. So let's celebrate!

On Thursday, Dec. 5, Thorn St. will celebrate its birthday from 4 to 10 p.m., which, as we all know, are the only sensible hours to celebrate a birthday: 4 p.m. is ideal to start a weekday party so that everyone feels empowered to slink out of their corporate confines slightly earlier than usual. This augments the party environment with the intoxicating sensation of Sticking It To The Man, which is so richly satisfying. Better yet, the party ends at 10 p.m., which will get you into bed at a reasonable hour, facilitating resumption of Sucking Up To The Man bright and early the next day.

Thorn St. will have beer specials, prizes and food, in addition to unveiling five brand new beers:

• Ryestafari—Black Rye IPA

• Cold December Night—Barley Wine

• Chewbacca Dopplebocka—Dopplebock

• Eric’s Trip—Triple IPA

• Pieces of Eight Porter—Imperial Vanilla Coffee Porter

There are no tickets for the event. All they ask is that you show up eager to drink and celebrate. But not too eager: That just makes you look desperate.
