Bob Filner talking to the San Diego ASA chapter It's no secret that San Diego Mayor Bob Filner's a hero of the medical marijuana community. A little more than a month ago, at a meeting of the San Diego chapter of Americans for Safe Access, he pledged to put an end to the city prosecuting dispensaries and said he'd spearhead a medical marijuana ordinance that would allow pot shops to operate legally. (A proposed ordinance was supposed to be discussed at the March 5 City Council meeting, but has since been postponed.)
So to honor him, Point Loma Patient Association's named a strain of marijuana Bob Filner OG. The description's brief: "The man behind the force, this won't let you down..."
I called over there and was told that the person who'd be best to talk about it won't be in until tomorrow morning. But, according to info on WeedMaps.com, it's an indica—meaning it'll mellow you out (as opposed to a sativa, which, for some people, is like weed espresso). It's been around for a month, costs $35 for an eighth and is ranked as both "potent" and "popular." And, back on Jan. 14, this guy was looking forward to trying it.
