Don't let Christmas kill your fun this week. Yes, it's the slowest week of the year when it comes to events, but we did some digging and found a few things for you to do.

The Yard Dogs Road Show bills themselves as "hobo cabaret." Events editor Carissa Casares says the show sounds like a strange-but-fun experience that includes everything from sword swallowing to dancing dolls. Oh, and their music isn't bad either. Push play for the details. The show is at Belly Up Wednesday, Dec. 28.

And music editor Peter Holslin loves the way Ben Johnson transforms into Grammatical B when he gets on stage. Read more about Grammatical B in this week's feature (link coming soon) and watch a Grammatical B video here. Grammatical B performs Thursday, Dec. 23, at Casbah.

Carissa likes cookies (who doesn't?), which is party why she wants people to check out the 12-foot replica of La Jolla Village made completely of cookies. The Holiday Cookie Display is on view at the Athenaeum now through Dec. 31.

Peter and others are sad to see the year-long residency of San Diego band The Styletones end at Bar Pink. Learn more about why the band is moving on by listening to the podcast or go see their last Monday night show at Bar Pink at 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27.

And arts editor Kinsee Morlan throws in her one cent at the end. There's an impressive lineup going on at the Graffiti Denim show at Bar Basic Tuesday, Dec. 28. Sake, Pose2 and Zane are just a few of the artists in the show.

Big thanks to the band TV Girl for letting us use one of their tracks on this week's podcast. Now, push play.
