Megadeth's Dave Mustaine claims President Obama staged mass shootings

Victim of Colorado shootings disputes his crackpot theory, says Obama 'didn't shoot me'

Plenty of wacky conspiracy theories have sprouted up to explain the recent shootings at the movie theater in Aurora, Colo., and the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisc. Now, Megadeth singer and La Mesa native Dave Mustaine has entered the fray with his own hare-brained theory.

During a recent concert in Singapore, Pitchfork and many other outlets report, Mustaine announced that President Barack Obama had actually staged the shootings as part of a scheme to ban guns. Yep, because that makes a whole lot of sense.

According to a video of the concert (posted below), Mustaine had this to say:

"Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban, so he's staging all of these murders, like the 'Fast and Furious' thing down at the border. And Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there. And now, the beautiful people at the Sikh temple. I was talking to JD, our promoter here tonight, what a great guy. I was saying, you know, I don't know where I'm going to live if America keeps going the way it's going, because it looks like it's turning into Nazi America."

Not surprisingly, a victim of the shootings in Colorado has not taken kindly to Mustaine's theories, telling TMZ that the only person to blame is alleged shooter James Holmes.

"Some people think the President is a good scapegoat but he didn't shoot me," said Carli Richards, who's recovering from multiple bullet wounds.

"Everybody is emotional at this time and needs to blame somebody I guess. I don’t think they realize the consequences of not being responsible for your own actions and James Holmes needs to be held accountable for his, to whatever way the justice system deems fit."
In other news, Megadeth still sucks.
