San Diego's most artistic family getting silent nods of approval

The Ivey family proves you don't have to follow life's rules to end up happy. They're not hipster cool, wouldn't know which nightclubs are better than others and probably couldn't point you to the next thing that's going to "blow up." But James and Lindy Ivey (and their son Kiva) are a hoot to be around and make this divorce-riddled age of cynicism seem like an anachronism. Their surrealist-inspired art is equally fun and strange.
