Mick Turner

Dirty Three guitarist's latest album

By Nobody
It's always the quietest ones who end up making the most noise. Take Mick Turner, the somber guitarist for Australia's premiere instrumental band, the Dirty Three. Though his partners have gone on to collaborate with Nick Cave and (Smog), Turner has subtly released three instrumental guitar albums on his own. Three contemplative downers that either put you to sleep or bore into your consciousness and open a few meditative doors. Either way, most of the 19 unnamed compositions on his new album, Moth, are gentle giants-passively beautiful instrumental haikus.
