Oliver Trolley: A Trolley Show

San Diego band performs 'Moment Goes' on the MTS

By Ryan Bradford

There should be name for sad, anthemic music. You know, the type of song that simultaneously shakes your bones while making you long for your safety blankie. We’re going to go ahead and take the lead by coining them “sadthemic.” Some sadthem songs include Ryan Adams’ “So Alive,” Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and now Oliver Trolley’s “Moment Goes.”

In this episode of A Trolley Show, the San Diego band performs a frills-free version of a song that loses no potency in its unplugged form. The three-quarter time signature makes for a natural, perpetual build that never seems to peak. And if the ferocity with which the percussionist attacks the egg shaker doesn’t give you chills, we don’t know what will.
