Bombay Bicycle Club: A Trolley Show

Londoners perform 'Shuffle' on the MTS

By Ryan Bradford

Ever see a puppy so cute that you just want to squeeze it until its little head comes off? Not that you’re into hurting animals, but it’s the only way your brain can handle the overloaded pleasure receptors. And since rage seems to be our current default emotion, any sort of positivity—no matter how innocuous—evokes an uncontrollable urge to destroy it.

Bombay Bicycle Club might as well be that little puppy. In this episode of A Trolley Show, the Londoners perform “Shuffle,” a tune so uplifting that it makes Vampire Weekend sound like The Cure. Just listen to that springy guitar, those dual harmonics, that finger-tappin’ cajon—it’s so bright that you just... hngg... must... not... destroy.
