Partying can take a toll on the body. However, if you follow Andrew W.K. on Twitter—the Confucius of partying—you’ll get a never-ending flow of party tips that can keep you feeling fresh despite not having awoken in your own bed for weeks. Here are some of Andrew W.K.’s party bon mots and some happenings where you can employ them.

On Wednesday, Aug. 22, you can take Andrew W.K.’s advice and “party so hard you bleed all over the dance floor of life” at El Dorado (1030 Broadway in East Village) as the electronic duo Poolside forego a nap to do a DJ set after their sold-out show at The Casbah. That’s the sort of commitment to the party that would make W.K. cry a single tear of tequila. Joining them will be Twin Shadow, Adam Salter, Saul Q and Kid Wonder. It’s a $5 cover, or free if you show them your Casbah ticket stub.

“Party tip: You don’t have to force a party. Just love life and the party happens effortlessly.” Those words seem especially poignant when paired with Lovelife’s anniversary party at Analog (801 Fifth Ave., Downtown) on Friday, Aug. 24. The promoters have been bringing theme parties to the city for a year and will celebrate with DJ sets from the rudely named Thugfucker, John Dadon and Boys Don’t Disco. The theme is black, just like the color you see after your 10th shot of Jaeger.

If you’re a fan of vampire lore, then it’s probably safe to say you’re super-emo all the time. The party god has this tip for you: “Partying is like stabbing sadness with a unicorn’s horn.” Do away with your goth disposition at Bite Night, a vampire-themed event at House of Blues’ main stage (1055 Fifth Ave., Downtown) on Saturday, Aug. 25. There’ll be vamp lingerie models, a “biting booth,” go-go dancers and more. You might need a copy of Twilight to hide your vampire boner.
