When all you want to do is dance, this is what you need to read
The run of Dos Tres--one of the best clubs to emerge in this city during the past year--has officially ended at Modus (2202 Fourth Ave.). Organizer Barry Weaver is already working on several new nights to keep our dance addictions satiated at least through 2007. His next big event happens on Aug. 9 at SIN (802 Sixth Ave.) in the Gaslamp, when U.K. DJ duo Audiojack plug us in with their bass-heavy mix of minimal house, progressive house, techno, breaks and tribal. Local DJs Gomez, Jamie O'Byrne and Dos Tres favorite Alain de Saracho open.
Aug. 10 brings the deep house and down-tempo sounds of Mark Farina at Belo (919 Fourth Ave.), and on Aug. 11, On Broadway (615 Broadway) welcomes the funky house, soul and hip-hop beats of King Britt, who will also be dropping in for a gig at Burning Man later this month.
Mondays are still going off at Live Wire in North Park (2103 El Cajon Blvd.) with Wheels of the Industry, featuring local DJs from neighborhood businesses. On Aug. 20, Adams Avenue Bicycles' DJ Campagnolo (minus his freshly shorn signature moustache) will throw down the sweetest of '80s electro-pop, indie-pop, dance jams and anything else that will get your ass shaking. He'll be sharing the decks with Daniel from Village Hat Shop, who drops the '60s soul and Motown 45s like no one's business. Who needs 12 inches when you have 7?
Finally, on Aug. 21, make your way down to Bar Basic in East Village (410 Tenth Ave.) for Basic Tuesdays. This time around they'll be featuring the spacey disco, deconstructed funk and otherwise eclectic sounds of DJs Shane Baker and Johnny Tran and the art of Super Jill to gaze upon with your inebriated eyes.
