The Seventh Annual Photo Contest

It was incredibly heartening to receive that last pile of submissions to this year’s photo contest just before the deadline. When all was said and done, we got roughly 60 percent more entries than last year. Nicely done, readers.
As always, judging was a blast, yet difficult. I am incredulous over the lack of appreciation among my fellow judges for a few images that I thought were sure bets to be chosen for publication. But that’s the way it goes; the other judges feel the same way about photos that they really liked. As a result, what you see here are the photos that won over a majority of our judges.

Big ups to everyone who entered—we really appreciate your willingness to subject your work to scrutiny—and congratulations to you shooters whose photos were chosen.

Oh, and what the heck is up with that photo of the two naked guys at the breakfast table? Makes us want to hold a caption contest.
