The Lost Sounds
Another creepy rock band

The history of creepy rock bands is long: the Misfits, Black Sabbath, etc. But '90s rap rockers took themselves too seriously, and the tortured aggression grated on fans' psyches. Leave it to a trio from Memphis, Tennessee to bring back the b-movie camp and be creepy without being oppressive. The Lost Sounds milk a keyboard for great horror-house effect, combining it with '60s garage rock, drugged-out surf guitar, dark wave metal, and lyrics that contemplate witchery and the Dark Lord. Showing their vintage sense of humor, they even cover the Lollipop Shoppe's classic, “You Must Be a Witch.” Psychotic and chaotic, for sure. And comical-in an extreme, straight-faced punk sense.
